About the book
Cas and Eli return to Ridgemount five years after the Chainless Voice conspiracy, ready to look after their godson, only to discover that the cult leaders are still alive and targeting their loved ones.
Synopsis
Cas Harlot and Eli Maxwell have it all. The perfect marriage. A godson who looks up to them. Immense respect from their society and people who know them. Good friends that support them, and a company in Brisbane that makes enough money for both of them to be able to live comfortably, financially independent. So when they return to Ridgemount, now known as the town of corruption, after five years of living abroad, they don’t know what to expect. After all, the worst had passed. Right? Everything had gone back to normal. The corruption was put to an end five years ago. What they don’t expect, however, is the realization that the Decker-Ward duo, who were supposed to be executed five years before, are still walking as free men—despite the horrendous crimes they’ve committed. So now they have a choice. Either leave it all and go back to Brisbane in hopes of living the rest of their normal life for once, or stay and protect those who they once loved.

This sounds like exactly the kind of thriller I would get completely hooked on! The whole idea of Cas and Eli thinking the people behind the Chainless Voice conspiracy were finally gone, only to discover they’re still alive, is such a creepy and exciting premise. I love the mix of mystery, danger and protecting the people you love, especially when they have to decide between going back to their safe life or staying and facing what’s happening. There are clearly so many secrets and unanswered questions here and I’m really curious to see how everything unfolds. Definitely one I’d want to keep reading!

book 2 of the Us series and it throws a LOT at you fast, so many characters, lots of secrets, but once it clicks it's genuinely hard to put down.
