About the book
Alex thought figuring out what he wanted would be the hard part. But desire is easy compared to everything that comes after. As relationships deepen, friendships shift, and the life Alex has been building begins to demand more from him, certainty becomes harder to hold onto. The choices that once felt simple now carry consequences, and wanting something does not necessarily mean knowing how to keep it. Is Want Enough? continues Alex’s journey through desire, intimacy, found family, complicated relationships, and the beautifully messy reality of becoming someone new. Because sometimes knowing what you want is only the beginning.
Synopsis
After the discoveries and choices that reshaped his life in Learning Want, Alex enters the next chapter believing he finally understands what he wants. But knowing what he wants and building a life around it prove to be very different things. As Alex moves deeper into relationships, intimacy, friendship, and a growing sense of self, the connections around him become more complicated. Familiar relationships evolve, new dynamics emerge, and the people who have become his found family continue to challenge, support, frustrate, and surprise him. What once felt like a journey toward an answer becomes something far less certain. Alex must navigate the difference between desire and commitment, independence and connection, and the person he has been and the person he is still becoming. Along the way, he learns that growth does not end when you finally name what you want. Sometimes that is precisely when the difficult part begins. Is Want Enough?, Book Two of The Want Series, is a character-driven contemporary LGBTQ+ novel about intimacy, friendship, desire, vulnerability, and the messy consequences of choosing a life that feels authentically your own.

Kelly
This was such a lovely, emotional read. I really enjoyed how realistic the relationship between Alex and Kevin felt, especially as they try to navigate distance, busy lives, changing priorities and everything that comes with chasing your dreams. What I loved most was that there isn't some huge villain or dramatic external conflict, the struggles come from everyday life, missed calls, late nights and trying to stay connected when life gets busy. That made the story feel incredibly relatable! The banter between Alex and Kevin was one of my favourite things, and the “I love you” moment during the terrible movie absolutely melted me. I'm very curious to see where everything goes next!
Author thank-yous & replies
From the author to Kelly
Kelly, thank you so much for taking the time to explore into Alex's world. I am so glad that it elicited an emotional response from you. Particularly the first "I love you." I toyed with different ways to deliver that scene, but ultimately decided something almost accidental felt the most natural. I am really glad that you enjoyed it, and hope that you continue when the book releases. :) Until next time, Asher
